The best way I can describe smiling is photos is from my favorite TV show of all time: "I never smile if I can help it. Showing one's teeth is a submission signal in primates. When someone smiles at me, all I see is a chimpanzee begging for its life" - Dwight Schrute. I'm just kidding, but when I saw these photos, this was the first thing that popped into my head.
The day we took these photos, I was floating on clouds, so I couldn't help but replicate my feelings through my smile. Smiling is always hard in photos because I feel like it's never genuine, but when you've been working your ass off on self-improvement the entire month, it's hard not to show a genuine smile.
When we were taking these photos, every time I smiled, I felt empowered. I felt comfortable, confident, and happy because how could I not be when I've been working so hard to improve myself? My biggest faults, I feel, is not smiling enough and not being as optimistic as I should be. Throughout this month, I've been trying my hardest to reverse these faults to improve my outlook on life. I'm a firm believer in self love, and April has been all about it. I'm treating myself like a fucking queen.
